Embrace Mindfulness For Mental Health Awareness Month

Mindfulness is about being present in your mind and body, and it doesn’t have to be slow and boring.

Try engaging in activities that require you to be mindful to introduce some adventure, such as mountain biking, rock climbing, paddle boarding, kayaking, or even a good trail run.

Practicing mindful eating is a great way to be truly present. Savor each bite, and explore with your senses how the food looks, tastes, feels, smells, and sounds as your eat it.

Pay attention to your screen time to support your mental health. You can activate screen time trackers on your electronics, and set yourself limits you can stick to. You can also set blackout times where you only answer calls and texts.

It can also be slow and boring. Explore good breathing techniques, meditate with a good view, practice daily gratitude in the morning, go on a quiet walk, or do light yoga.

The key here is to make sure you take some time to have a minute to re-center yourself. To be right here, right now.

Happy Mental Health Awareness Month!
