Long-Term Recovery For Sobriety In Truckee & Lake Tahoe, California

What is Long-Term Recovery?

Long-term recovery for sobriety typically spans anywhere from 90 days to six months or more. As addicts, the first year of our recovery is some of the most important days in achieving sobriety success. Our primary objective is to overcome addiction and behavioral health issues while establishing a robust foundation for sustained sobriety.

That is why a sober living environment like Crow’s Nest Ranch here in Truckee, California is so important to offer people exiting an inpatient program or looking to extend their sobriety while still working in our community. Living here at the ‘The Ranch’ will provide tenants and community members alike our Smart Recovery® Outpatient program, access to local community meetings, and holistic therapies like yoga, meditation, fitness, outdoor adventure and activity, Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai among others.

Our staff will also connect tenants with the right professionals who can assist the individual in transitioning back into the world with one-on-one therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psychiatric care, and a strong sense of peer group support. This extended duration allows a more thorough approach to recovery, particularly targeting the underlying issues that fuel addiction.

At Crow’s Nest Ranch, we will facilitate a structured environment with consistent routines. Structure is highly beneficial for individuals who struggle with impulse control or require additional support in fostering healthy habits. Increasingly, peer support is crucial to long-term recovery for sobriety by fostering a tight-knit community that provides ongoing support and encouragement.

Who is Long Term Recovery for?

Long-term recovery for sobriety is typically suggested for individuals who have battled addiction for a prolonged duration or have tried short-term programs without achieving the desired results. It can also be a suitable option for those with a history of recurring relapses.

This type of extended support is advised for people displaying high motivation to effect a significant change in their lives and demonstrating a commitment to the process of recovery. It may prove particularly advantageous for individuals who have attempted other methods in the past without achieving sustained sobriety or recovery.

Is Long-Term Recovery Right for You?

Whether long-term recovery in a sober living environment is the right choice depends largely on your needs and circumstances. If you’ve been battling addiction or other behavioral health issues for a significant duration, have attempted rehab paired with re-entry using only an outpatient program without success, or have a history of recurrent relapse, long-term sober living might be a suitable option.

This form of recovery can also prove beneficial if your addiction has led to substantial ramifications, such as legal or financial troubles, strained relationships, or health problems. Moreover, if you’re dealing with underlying mental health conditions or have experienced trauma, a sober living environment can offer the time and resources necessary to address these issues as part of your recovery journey.

Remembering that achieving sobriety is a substantial commitment in terms of time, resources, and effort is vital. It isn’t a quick fix but rather a comprehensive approach to managing our behavioral health issues and building a foundation for an enduring recovery. This process will encompass a highly structured environment, daily chores, easy access to personal and group therapy experts, and engagement in a community of peers.
